Welcome to the first post of 2016!
I hope you are all having a good start to the new year and are ready to be super creative this year!
My year started off with Final Exam on the 7th and getting my diploma on the 20th so I now have a PBA in E-Concept Development but also need to find a job.
Anyway, as I mentioned in the last post of 2015, I want to dedicate more time to this blog and get back to posting at least once a week on Monday (GMT+1) as per usual. Every now and then I may surprise you with an extra post at the end of the week, most likely Thursday or Friday. In fact the first ‘extra’ post of the year will be this week and it will feature my creative goals and projects for 2016. It will serve as the “getting-to-know me-and-my-blog”-post that I promised since I did not get any questions so I am doing that instead.
General Plans
Although the main language on Creative Kirk will continue to be English, I also want to blog in Danish. So if there is a post I have not written in Danish yet you are more than welcome to request it.
Besides the schedule mentioned earlier, Creative Kirk in 2016 is going to be much more active and interactive on social media. Twitter and Facebook will be the main communication channels, so if you have suggestions or just want to say hello that is were to do it. You can also use Instagram and Tumblr if you prefer either of those.
On Instagram I will be sharing pictures of ongoing creative projects and other inspiring things. On Tumblr I will share inspiring creativity of all genres found on Tumblr.
The blog will also be much more interactive when it comes to subjects and generally making the blog better. I want to hear what you want to read or learn more about. For example when I share creative projects I am working on and there is something you would like me to elaborate on, please ask. In the next sections you can see the subjects where you already now can begin to participate.
Polls will also be something I will be using this year to make the blog more interactive.
The Old Stuff That Is Continuing
Last year I started a series about games that I consider creative from a player’s perspective and that will continue this year. The games featured will be PC games so if you have tried or seen a game for PC that you would like me to consider for the series please do not hesitate to send me the link on Twitter or Facebook and I will take a look and mention you if I blog about it.
Creative Hobbies is another series that will continue this year. This is also the series where you can suggest hobbies for me to look into and possibly try and I would also love to see want your creative hobbies are so send me pictures on Twitter.
I will also be continuing to review/recommend various books about creativity in general and books on various hobbies. Some of these posts will be in Danish as there are many Danish hobby books I find quite helpful and inspiring.
The New Stuff That Is Coming
As an expansion on the book reviews/recommendations, I will also start to include recommendations for websites, blogs and YouTube channels. Please share with me your favourite creative websites, blogs and YouTube channels or your own, and I will take a look and feature them in the future.
Something I have always wanted to do on Creative Kirk is tutorials. I will be making my own but also sharing from other blogs, Tumblr, Pinterest and YouTube. I will try to find the tutorials in English and Danish, and will also make my own tutorials in both languages. If you have anything you would like me to make a tutorial for, provided I can, you are more than welcome to make a request through social media.
I would also like to do posts about your creativity such as posts with things you as my readers have made and send me pictures of on social media. For example if you have tried a tutorial I posted. These will not be every week though but maybe once a month or every other month.
Most of the old and new categories of posts will be once a month but some will be once every other month. I will post an update of coming post at the beginning of each month so you know when to check in.
I will continue to come up with ideas for series and other posts as the year progresses so come back soon, I might have an idea you would like. If you have ideas to creative adventures I could blog about please do send me your suggestions! You will be mentioned of course.
I hope you are looking forward to Creative Kirk in 2016 because I am!
